The author has managed to merge two of the most popular subjects in most public libraries into an indispensable, portable, and highly informative book. Considering the interest in cycling as a sport and of national parks as tourist destinations, this nicely written, well-organized item will probably end up in the back pockets or backpacks of many a library patron. Only those national parks (and monuments and seashores) that lend themselves to bicycle touring are covered, so don't look for this to be a comprehensive park guide. And while it gives some valuable historical and geological information about the places listed, it is first and foremost intended for the more adventuresome traveler.
